Camp Crafts

CAMP CRAFTS

*Both the Living History and the Liberal Arts areas have been combined into one program area*

The Living History Program provides Scouts with the opportunity to learn and experience new skills and acquire great respect for our history. Skills learned from the courses have led others to adopt a new hobby or pursue a trade. An added value of this course is that beyond earning a merit badge, participants will be allowed to keep the finished product whether it is a pair of moccasins, a basket, an Indian totem, or a completed carving project.

The Liberal Arts Staff is ready to spark the creative minds of Scouts and channel their creativity in a positive direction. No matter how abstract or original the imagination, a blank canvas awaits at Camp Avondale. Scouts artistic talents will be cultivated through the course work of this program. In order to complete specific requirements in the Liberal Arts Program, Scouts will participate in campfires, presentations, and special evening activities. These Scouts may seek the assistance of staff members or other Scouts and Leaders of their Troop. Be prepared to participate if called upon.
